Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2025

By using MaskMails, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English — no legal obfuscation. If something is unclear, ask us.

1. The Service

MaskMails provides a free, temporary email inbox service. You may generate disposable email addresses, receive emails to those addresses, and read them in your browser. The service is provided "as is" with no guarantees of uptime, delivery, or permanence.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MaskMails to:

  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk mail (MaskMails is receive-only — this is technically impossible, but still prohibited in any indirect way).
  • Receive communications that violate any applicable law.
  • Circumvent legal obligations, such as age verification requirements on age-restricted platforms.
  • Conduct phishing, fraud, or any form of social engineering against third parties.
  • Attempt to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer our infrastructure.
  • Create addresses for the purpose of receiving malware, ransomware, or CSAM.

We reserve the right to block addresses or IP ranges that violate these terms without notice.

3. No Guarantees

MaskMails makes no guarantee that:

  • Every email sent to a generated address will be delivered (spam filters, sender blocks, and provider restrictions may prevent delivery).
  • The service will be available at any particular time.
  • Address generation will always produce a unique address (though we make strong efforts to ensure this).

Use MaskMails for casual, low-stakes email interception only. Do not rely on it for critical communications.

4. Intellectual Property

The MaskMails name, logo, and interface are our intellectual property. You may not copy, rebrand, or redistribute our front-end or back-end code without explicit written permission. The underlying open-source libraries we use retain their respective licenses.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MaskMails and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service. This includes loss of data, missed communications, or downstream consequences of using a temporary email address.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to MaskMails at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these terms, abuse, or legal obligation. Since no accounts exist, "termination" means blocking your IP or generated address.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law. Any disputes will be resolved in good faith. If resolution is not possible, disputes shall be handled under the jurisdiction of the operators' registered location.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
